The process of developing a website in a nutshell

Developing a really usable and well-working website is a multi-step process:

  1. planning the structure and content of the website and the individual pages,
  2. creating the graphic design (or choosing the best possible template),
  3. the actual development of the website: the coding.

1. Planning

First of all, we need to get to know your needs. Determining the purpose, the business purpose of the site is the most important first step. After assessing your needs, we design the structure of the website based on the available content and the desired functions.

In the first phase of the design, we often outline the structure on a wireframe like the one below. This draft is to help us be on the same page about or demonstrate the structure of the new or renewed website.

2. Web design and image design

You can select a ready-to-buy template for your new or upgraded website, or create custom graphic designs based on the wireframe.

In case you go for a custom graphic design, we can also create a video prototype to demonstrate how it will work and how the animations will look like. This was one of the prototypes of the new Prompt website:

We can also copy your existing design (for example, if you are satisfied with it, and you just want to switch to another content management system, or if you just want to make your current page responsive).

3. Development

In this phase, the actual, working website is created from the design. Although we are committed to Drupal Content Management System (CMS), we also work with Wordpress, Magento and other CMS-based sites.

All the websites we develop are responsive, so they are ideal for display on both desktops and mobile devices.

We always test the websites we build for compatibility with the latest versions of the most popular browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox) and devices (iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones and tablets).

During development, the website is not public, but you will be able to access it.

4. Hosting

In the development and testing phase, we store the site on our own server, but we also offer a reliable solution for the final web hosting.

Development and maintenance are also smoother and cheaper if you choose us as a hosting provider.
